Congratulations to our Year 11 students who picked up their much-anticipated GCSE results today! After another challenging year due to the pandemic, students of Rye Hills Academy celebrated their achievements in school this morning.

There were plenty of smiling faces and as ever, some exceptional individual performances which saw many students achieving multiple grade 9s across a broad range of subjects.

Top performances came from:

  • Will Matthews and Luke Chapman who achieved 6 grade 9s.
  • Alex Hicks and Sam Lee who achieved 4 grade 9s.
  • Elle Birkbeck, Jolie Grimwood, Katie Gunn, Jacob Hammond, Evie Joyce, Harvey Richardson and Kassidy Taylor who all achieved 3 grade 9s.

Students were pleased to be able to celebrate in person, in particular Joe Willet, Jake Graham and Connor Campbell, who have all made exceptional progress during their time at Rye Hills Academy.

Caroline Waugh, Headteacher at Rye Hills Academy, said:

“We are hugely proud of the resilience and commitment this year group have shown. Many of them will now continue their journeys at sixth form college or further education, engaged in apprenticeships or joining the armed forces. Class of 2021 we wish you all the very best for the future - well done!”
