Matthew Bennett

Matthew left Rye Hills School in 2008 and is currently studying inorganic chemistry (CO2 capturing) PhD at Hull University.

Matthew said: "I was always interested in science and enjoyed my conversations with the science department teachers.

I left with 10 GCSEs graded A*- C including three in triple science, maths and English.

After this, I went to Prior Pursglove College to continue my passion in science and found my greater interests were in chemistry.

After completing my A levels in chemistry, maths and history, I left to study for a Masters Degree at Hull University in chemistry.

I have graduated with a 1st class Masters Degree with honours in chemistry and nanotechnology, I am now starting my next academic step and studying a PhD in the hopes of achieving a Doctorate in inorganic chemistry.

My work involves creating CO2 capturing materials to help combat global warming."
