Today we held our annual Remembrance Service organised by Mr Featherstone. Mr Zaheer opened the ceremony talking about the importance of the day and why we should remember those who sacrificed their lives for us. Year 9 student George R kindly played his ukelele and sang a war song as the Year 7s entered the hall. We held a 2-minute silence across the whole school to remember those who have fallen and suffered in conflict. Our newly appointed Student President and Vice President laid a wreath and read the poems, In Flanders Fields and I am not a badge of honour.
The service concluded with our students from uniformed youth organisations proudly parading from the hall, led by Lt. C Wilson, County Officer. Thank you to everyone involved and to those who donated to the British Legion by buying a poppy and wearing it with pride.
