Y9 Parents’ Evening and Key Stage 4 Options – Wednesday 11th February 2026
At Rye Hills Academy, we are committed to supporting students as they make thoughtful and informed choices about the subjects they wish to study in the next phase of their education. These decisions play an important part in helping them achieve their future goals and aspirations.
Our Key Stage 4 Options Evening will take place alongside Y9 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 11th February, between 3.30pm and 6.30pm. This event is an essential opportunity for parents and students to gather the information needed to make confident and informed decisions, and your attendance is strongly encouraged.
The evening will include:

Parents’ Evening appointments with your child’s English, maths and science teachers - these are the core subjects all students study at KS4. Appointments can be made via School Cloud: https://ryehills.schoolcloud.co.uk/

An Options Fair in the Sports Hall, where you can speak to subject teachers about progress in potential option subjects and explore the full range of GCSE, Technical and Vocational courses available.

Presentation in the main hall outlining the Options procedure at 5pm.
In the presentation senior leaders will explain the options process and outline key information and dates. You will receive the Options Booklet on the evening, containing detailed guidance about each subject and the overall process. Our Careers Lead, Mr Charlton, will be available for advice, and representatives from local colleges will also be present. After the event you will be sent a Microsoft forms link to complete which options your child would like to take.
