Today our stufents demonstrated exceptional community spirit and compassion by organising their first-ever Reindeer Run to raise funds for Teesside Hospice. A total of 105 enthusiastic students, donned in festive attire, took to the challenge and completed an impressive 6 laps of a set course to cover a 5K distance. The event not only showcased the students' physical prowess but, more importantly, their commitment to supporting Teesside Hospice in providing palliative care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses.
The Reindeer Run proved to be a resounding success, with an astonishing total of £1328.76 raised collectively by the participating students.
Several students stood out for their exceptional contributions during the event. Daisy emerged as an outstanding fundraiser, securing an impressive £356 in donations. Oliver earned recognition for the best fancy dress, while Brody stood out for an equally impressive costume. The title of joint fastest female was awarded to Lucy and Emmie, with Hayden claiming the title of the fastest male participant.
The fundraising efforts were not confined to the event itself, with outstanding contributions from various pupils. Besides Daisy's remarkable fundraising, others who significantly contributed included Lucy, Megan, Anna, Daniel, Florrie, Wilf, Maisie, James, Deacon, Cassie to name just a few!
The funds raised will go towards supporting Teesside Hospice in providing vital palliative care to individuals aged 18 and above facing life-limiting illnesses. Teesside Hospice operates 24/7, 365 days a year, offering compassionate care to local individuals and extending support through bereavement counselling. Additionally, their 'Forget-Me-Not' children's bereavement counselling plays a crucial role in helping young individuals cope with the loss of someone significant in their lives.
The success of this event not only contributes to the welfare of those in need but also serves as an inspiring example of the positive impact that collective efforts can achieve within a community.
Amazing job everyone!
