Last week we were proud to unveil our newly refurbished, state-of-the-art, multi-sports pitch thanks to almost £250,000 of support from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Levelling Up Fund.
During the grand opening event, we were joined by Redcar Hockey Club and VIPs including The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Neil Bendelow and Labour (Co-op) MP for Redcar, Anna Turley, in addition to lots of local politicians and councillors from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
We listened to speeches from Mr Zaheer our Headteacher, MP Anna Turley and Steve Russell, Chair of Redcar Hockey Club, before The Mayor, Cllr Neil Bendelow, did the honours of cutting the golden ribbon and declaring the pitch officially open.
Everyone at the event, from our students to VIPs, made the most of the sunshine and took to the field for some hockey activities led by Redcar Hockey Club. It was a brilliant evening!
